The 5000 series was produced in the USA beside the 1000-series and used for export, records for the Latin-American and Spanish market and advertisement and custom records.

The DURIUM PRODUCTS CORPORATION - NEW YORK was in fact an advertisement agency. They used the new light unbreakable durium record to spread advertisement and custom records. Hundreds of these little records were made, most of them listed here for the very first time. Regulary they don't have a specific label and don't have visible catalogue numbers. The only grip mark seems to be the matrices as pressed into the surface. The first recordings seem to be part of a kind of catalogue number that reads something like 4 AD 15, which means that it is a 4 inch advertisement record with the range number 15.

AD 1: and AD 2: Both records have the matrix number 5007. Two takes ( A and B) are known. Take A was used for AD 1 and take B for AD 2. Both records are ads for JUNIOR HOME MAGAZINE. A 4" diameter advertisement record. On the label two Christmas trees in pots. It is an advertisement made for JUNIOR HOME MAGAZINE. Another durium record ( 5012 ) might be made for this series.

These recordings were exclusively made for the Durium Products (Great Britain) Limited licensed Jul. 13th 1931, but mind that there are American (New York) (for export) and European (Slough, UK) versions. The early US vesions of the T- records have the DURIUM DISCHI label. The purpose of these recordings, recorded in the US and shipped to Europe (the most common type was "printed" in the new durium factory in Slough) was to make a start with the T-series, that started March 1932 with a great advertisement campaign.
